The weather in Sóc Trăng this week has been the same as it has been in the two months that I have been here. Hot all day and all night, except after the heavy downpour of rain that happens every single day in the afternoon. Fortunately, I was able to get used to the heat when I was in Hanoi (it is honestly not too different from the Maryland humidity), and the consistency of the rain makes it manageable to plan around.
The obvious answer to this question is that I see between three and five animals every single day in my room due to the sheer number of lizards all around the school. Ranging from roughly one to five inches, they are inevitable. One time, when trying to find the wifi password on the router in my room, I accidentally grabbed one of the large ones and its tail fell off! I never thought that I would witness one of the wildlife facts that I learned while watching Wild Kratts as a kid in real life. I also see large snails and many, many mosquitoes on a daily basis.
