Our News

What activity was the most fun this week?:

My favorite activity is my daily morning walk. I live down the street from the Cardiff castle, so my morning walks usually entail walking by the moat, or at least looking at the castle from the river, and seeing the turrets nestled in the trees.

What did I read this week?:

I am currently reading a non-fiction book called The Medieval Scriptorium: Making Books in the Middle Ages by Sara Charles, a professor at the University of London. I love history and I especially love the history of books, so I tend to read a lot of non-fiction both for fun and for my studies. Since I am studying creative writing, I do get to read some poetry books and short fiction books here and there which is always a nice break.

What games or sports did I play this week?:

When I first came to Wales, I signed up to try out a number of different activities, including fencing and rugby. A big part of rugby is running backwards, so we had to do laps around the field backwards! One rule of fencing, which is also the rule that made me decide I could not do it long term, was that you have to keep your knees bent at all time! You are practically fighting while doing squats!

Other news from this week:

I am starting a new position as a marketing intern at Cardiff University and will now be a student and staff member!
