I travelled to London this week! I have been to London quite a few times now, and went to their Christmas markets, a showing of Romeo and Juliet at the Sam Wanamaker theater, and enjoyed a stroll by Big Ben.
The furthest I have travelled so far in Europe was to Germany and France. From London, it is very easy, as well as cheap, to catch a flight to most places in Europe. The furthest I have travelled in the UK is to Scotland, which is all the way north of the United Kingdom, while Wales is south!
My city is fairly small and so I walk everywhere. When I am heading to London, I take the bus since it's cheap and fairly quick. When I travel through Wales and England, I tend to take the train however.
My favorite place I have visited in the UK is the Cotswolds. They are a cluster of charming villages made of stone homes with thatched roofs and taverns that date back to the 1400s. The villages are small and most people get their groceries from the local Saturday morning farmers markets. There aren't really any grocery stores to get everything you need, so you go to the cheese shop for cheese, the bakery for bread, the butcher for meat, and so forth!
