What main languages are spoken here?:

The national language of the Philippines is Tagalog. But there are over 7,000 different islands in the Philippines, which contribute to lots of different languages and dialects in the Philippines. While a lot of people in my region speak Tagalog, they also speak the local language of their municipality (similar to a county in the United States). Since I live in Buruanga, the local language that most people speak is Buruanganon. Students also start learning English early during their school career, here, so a lot of people speak at least some English as well as the local language.

What type of money is used here?:

The official currency of the Philippines is the Philippine peso (PHP, ₱). Instead of pennies, people in the Philippines have 1 peso coins. There are also 5, 10, and 20 peso coins. There is also a 20 peso bill, along with a 50 peso, 100 peso, 200 peso, 500 peso, and 1,000 peso bill. The bills here are beautiful, with different colors for each value and corresponding pictures of different animals that live in the Philippines. My favorite is the 100 peso bill because it's purple and it has a whale shark on it.

How much does a bottle of water cost?:

To buy a bottle of water, it can cost between 10 pesos (17 cents in the U.S.) and 20 pesos (25 cents).
