Our News

What activity was the most fun this week?:

The Sea Organ in Zadar was amazing. It’s built into marble steps by the ocean, with pipes under the water. When the waves move, the organ makes music! Sitting there listening to the sounds while looking out at the sea felt magical. You can hear the Sea Organ in the video I uploaded for you.

What did I read this week?:

I started reading Like a Fish in Water, a book about how to adjust to studying abroad. It’s been helpful to know I’m not alone when I feel nervous or miss home. This book has become a great tool for me.

What games or sports did I play this week?:

Soccer (called football in Europe) is super popular in Croatia, causing a national rivalry. There are two major teams, Dinamo Zagreb and Hajduk Split.

Other news from this week:

In Split, Croatia, there’s a giant statue of a man named Gregory of Nin. People come from all over to look at the statue... and rub his big toe.

The bronze toe is so shiny from thousands of people touching it. Why? Because locals say rubbing the toe brings good luck and even makes wishes come true. Of course, I had to try it, too!
