This week I traveled an average of 15,000 steps per day according to my fitness app, which means I’ve walked about 6 miles each day. The furthest I traveled this week was to Himeji, which is about 50 miles from where I'm living in Ibaraki in Osaka Prefecture.
I haven’t traveled very far yet and there’s still so much more to see. Believe it or not, I haven’t even visited Tokyo yet! So far, I’ve visited Himeji, Osaka, a little bit of Kyoto, Suzuka and Nara. Himeji, Nara and Suzuka have been the farthest places I have traveled in Japan.
This week, I got around by walking and taking the train. My university is walking distance from my dorm, but to go anywhere else I take the public trains. These are the only ways I’ve traveled around Japan so far.
The most interesting place that I visited this week was Himeji Castle. Being able to walk around the gardens and go inside the castle itself was an amazing experience.
