こんにちわ! I have now been in Japan for about a month, and the food here has been amazing! For me, food is one of the main things I look forward to when traveling. I have always seen so many videos of food in Japan, and finally being here to try some of them myself is so exciting. Lucky for me I’m in Osaka, which is known as the food capital of Japan. Some of the dishes I've had here so far have been delicious, but there’s still so much I need to try!
I have already tried a good amount of Japanese food in my time here, including ramen, udon, sushi, yakisoba, Japanese curry, Japanese BBQ, karaage, okonomiyaki, omurice, and many more. Honestly, I don’t think there’s been a single Japanese dish so far that I haven't liked.
If someone were to ask me what my favorite Japanese food is, I’d have a hard time answering that question. A good tonkotsu ramen always hits the spot at night, but sushi with unagi (eel) is probably my favorite. However, Japanese curry is also delicious and tends to be very affordable, and I’ve had some of the best fried chicken, which is known here as karaage. Additionally, okonomiyaki is unique and very tasty, and street takoyaki is a great appetizer. Watching the cook make the takoyaki right in front of you is fascinating, and it makes you drool from how good everything looks.
