Galicia is known for its rain. In fact, there is a saying in galego, one of the local languages spoken here: se chove, que chova, which means "if it rains, let it rain." This means that to truly live like a galego (someone from my region, Galicia) you have to get used to the rain and not let it stop your day, because rain is deeply integrated into the culture here. So while I got very lucky for my first month here with having many sunny days, and I am very appreciative, this week marked the beginning of the season of constant rain, and I'm not mad about it. Now it's time to embrace being a galego and let it rain!
This week, I've seen a variety of fun animals. I saw many seagulls, pigeons and, of course, cute dogs. But I've also seen some unique animals, like the rubia gallega (famous Galician blonde cow) in a farm in a small village and a peacock wandering around a park.
