The weather in Tiwanaku has been mostly sunny all week with a steady breeze.
Josh and I continue to see many dogs here in Bolivia! We also saw cows, horses and llamas this week. Llamas are the national animal of Bolivia.
The coolest thing we saw in nature this week were the llamas that we passed on our drive to the ancient ruins of Tiwanaku. Llamas are native to the Andes Mountains here in South America. Since llamas are very tough animals, the Incans used them for thousands of years to carry heavy loads of supplies up and down the rocky terrain of the Andes. Today, llamas are domesticated in Bolivia, and their wool is used for making sweaters, gloves, winter hats and coats. Sometimes, Bolivians also eat llama meat.
