They didn’t bite me or anything, but it was definitely a little scary for a bit!
For Christmas, I went to a beach area in Ecuador called Salinas. Two of my friends and I decided to travel around Ecuador during our time off work instead of going home to the U.S. On Christmas day, we went to a place called the Chocolatera, which is the name for the eastern-most point of Ecuador. We went there to see the sunset along the ocean, which was incredibly beautiful!
Ecuador is an incredibly diverse country, from the beaches to the west, the mountains in the middle, and the Amazon rainforest to the east. So far, I’ve been able to see a lot of Ecuador, but there’s still so much to explore! One of my favorite places was a city called Mindo, which is a small touristy town up in the mountains. It’s known for its beautiful “Cloud Forest” because the altitude causes amazing clouds to drift in and out of the forests in Mindo.
