It was amazing to ride along the old mountain train tracks through one of Taiwan’s narrow mountain valleys, stopping along the way to see rivers, waterfalls and old mountain villages.
As the weather warms up, we’re continuing to see more flowers blossoming across Taiwan. Flower blossoming is an important event for many East Asian cultures. Taiwan’s national flower, the plum blossom, blooms in late January or early February. Throughout the late winter/early spring, different varieties of plum, cherry and other blossoms continue to briefly bloom. Flower viewing and photography are popular springtime hobbies for Taiwanese people.
