大家好!Hi everyone! My name is Jonathan Cao. I am an American graduate student in Hsinchu, Taiwan. I'm 22 years old, and my hometown is Southborough, Massachusetts. I grew up in Massachusetts, including living at a boarding school near Boston during high school. For college, I went to New York University in New York, New York. I was interested in learning about politics, economics, and the world, so I studied Business and Political Economy. I had the chance to study abroad in 3 countries: the UK, Spain, and China. After college, I was interested in learning even more about the countries in East Asia, so I applied for a Fulbright scholarship to study in Taiwan. I was lucky enough to win the award. Now, I'm studying Political Economy at National Tsing Hua University, a great school here in Taiwan.
Besides learning about Asia, I also love playing video games, reading manga (Japanese comic books), and riding motorcycles. I speak Mandarin Chinese, which is very useful in Taiwan! I've been having a great time here so far. I've made lots of friends from many different countries. I've also tasted some of the delicious local food and explored Taiwan's unique culture. Taiwan has a friendly and fascinating culture, natural landscape, and people. I can't wait to show you more about life over here. As they say in Chinese: 再見 (zàijiàn), goodbye!
