The mountains run right up to the sea, and the coolest thing I saw in nature this week was the entire perimeter of Lanyu, as my friends and I scootered around the whole island multiple times.
While on Lanyu, we were hit with an unexpected rainstorm that forced us to shelter at a small food stall along with some locals, while we waited for the storm to pass. After the rain stopped, we headed back to our hostel early, thinking that our evening was over. We were quickly proven wrong, as the clouds cleared up during our drive back. We stopped near a massive rock formation by the sea and stargazed in a place with no light pollution, seeing even the Milky Way and some shooting stars. Taiwan's weather can be unpredictable, and you never know what new adventure it might lead you on!
