Nature News

What was the coolest thing I saw in nature this week?:

The coolest thing I saw in nature this week was while I was helping pick up trash in a mangrove forest. Mangroves are the only type of tree that can live in saltwater, so you'll only see them along the shore. Lots of animals live within the mangrove tree roots, and this week I saw a GIANT hermit crab. It was the size of a baseball. I had never seen one that big before!

Other Nature News from this week:

In addition to it being the rainy season and there being multiple typhoons in the Philippines, right now, there was also an earthquake on Tuesday night! Even though I was roughly 300 kilometers from the center of the earthquake, I still felt my cottage swaying as I was getting ready for bed. Everyone was safe in my community, and hopefully, the people closer to the earthquake will recover quickly. Nature can be scary and unpredictable, which is why it's important to always be prepared for an emergency.
