My Food Adventure in Korea

How did I feel when I tried it?:

It has been exciting to try so many new foods! Before moving to South Korea, I was a picky eater. I usually liked eating the same foods and did not try many new things.

That has changed since I moved here! I have tried so many foods that I have never eaten before. I was a little nervous trying these new things, but I gave them a chance. I'm glad I did because I have found many new foods that I really enjoy.

I have learned that trying something new can be fun. You never know when you might find your next favorite food!

How is the food prepared?:

Some Korean foods are made in special ways. Some might even remind you of foods you have eaten before!

Korean corn dogs are similar to the corn dogs we eat back home in the U.S. The biggest difference is that Korean corn dogs can have a sausage, cheese, or both on a stick, and they are covered in a thick batter and crunchy bread crumbs. Some even have small pieces of potato on the outside! Then they are fried until golden brown. They can be topped with sugar, ketchup or mustard.

Korean fried chicken is similar to fried chicken back home, but there are a few differences. It is often fried twice to make it extra crispy! It can also come with different toppings and flavors, like sweet sauce, spicy sauce or even cheese powder.

Korean barbecue is a meal that people often enjoy in groups. At many restaurants, there is a grill in the middle of the table where everyone can cook their own meat and vegetables. At some other restaurants, a worker cooks and cuts the meat for you. Either way, it is a fun way to share a meal with family and friends!
