Field Note - Kids' Lives

Introduction:

Hello Ms. Valtierra and Ms. Vetrano's class,

I hope you all are well! Each week, you receive an article written by me. But this week, this article will channel the voices of three of my students! Their names are Rashid Clinton, Yahaya Fadila Queen and Mahami Mahama Sayibu. These students are in their second year of senior high school at Tamale Senior High School. (So, they are around seventeen years old.) They are also my students in my English class! After class, we sat down to talk about their life in Tamale, including their interests and goals.

What do you eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner?:

Clinton: When I come to school in the morning, I take porridge before class. After class, I eat plain rice for breakfast. For lunch, my favorite food is cowpeas, which look like small, circular beans. For dinner, I take dishes like gari (roasted cassava) or indomie (spaghetti).
