This week, the weather has been really hot with a few light rains. In La Peca, we’ve had a lot of sol lluvia (sun rain), when the sky looks clear and sunny but it still rains! This happens because we’re at the end of the dry season, which is the hottest time of the year. In January, the rainy season will start, and it will rain for a few hours almost every day. Since I’m from the desert, this kind of weather has been something new to get used to!
We have chickens, turkeys, a dog, and a cat in my host family's house, so I see them all the time. I also saw horses, donkeys, cows, and bulls in the streets. The most surprising thing I saw was a tarantula in my room! I carefully picked her up so I could show you all.
