French is the main language spoken in Aix-en-Provence. But because there are a lot of English speaking students that live in Aix, a lot of people also speak English. This is nice because if you are somewhere and you don't know how to say what you want in French you can say it English and be understood. It also means that you can practice speaking French wherever you go and everyone helps!

A bottle of water is 1.50 € or about $1.67. Things are about the same price as they are in the States, except when it comes to eating out at a restaurant. When you go out to eat if you choose to sit down it can be pretty pricey, but the good news is all of the food so far has been delicious!
