I listsened to a lot of opera music this week. Aix is known for their opera festival, so it is no surprise that my host mom loves to listen to opera while she cooks dinner. It is so nice to smell dinner cooking and hear the sounds of opera throughout the house. Have you ever listened to opera?
This week I had the opportunity to go the beach at Marseille. The beaches here are rocky and the water is crystal clear with a beautiful blue tone. Depending on what beach you go to, you can play volleyball, fly your kite, sun bathe on huge rocks or just listen to the waves roll in. My friends and I decided to just lay out in a sandy patch and eat popsicles and churros between spending time in the water.
Right now I am reading the book, "Le secret de Louise". This is a French book that I am reading for my class and to help me learn the language. Reading a book in a different language is difficult because sometimes I have to stop and look words up just to understand what I am reading.
This week I went bowling with my friends. It was just like when I go bowling back at home with my friends but there was French music and people around me, so it was like a little piece of home while still here in Aix.
