An Interview with Fifth Graders in Lesotho: Teboho, Karabelo and Boithatelo

What would you like to be when you grow up?:

Teboho: When I grow up I want to be a doctor because they have a lot of money.

Boithatelo: When I grow up I want to be an accountant so that I can type on a computer.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?:

Teboho: I want to go to America!

Boithatelo: I also want to go to America!

What do you know or think about the United States?:

All: America has big towns!

Boithatelo: I think it is like Maseru, where there are so many cars!

Karabelo: I think there are trees and horses!

Teboho: And mountains!

Boithatelo: I think in America, there are many people who have pets. I want to take an airplane and a boat in America! I also want to eat food in America.

Karabelo: I want to eat Chinese food in America!

What questions do you have for kids in the United States?:

Teboho: I want to know about their families. 

Boithatelo: I want to know the names of mountains in America.

Karabelo: I want to know about their teachers.

Boithatelo: I want to know what God they believe in in America.

Teboho: I want to know what kids do after school.

Boithatelo: What are chalkboards like in America?

Kababelo: I want to know what kids play after school.
