Interview with Angie

Introduction:

Angie is one of the first people I met when I arrived in Paris. She was working at the library where I had gone to do some studying. She was helping me apply for a library card and saw that I was American when she looked at my passport. She told me that she was trying to learn English as part of a business program she was in. Since I was trying to learn French, it was the perfect arrangement! We decided to meet so that we could each teach one another our native language.

What is your full name?:

Angela Biquena

Where do you live? What is your house like?:

I live in a suburb of Paris called Noisy-le-Grand. I live in an apartment with my two sons. My oldest son is 19 and my youngest is 11.

What is your family like?:

I have a very big family. I have 6 siblings: 4 sisters and 2 brothers. All of us have children as well. Most everyone lives here in France, but some family is still in Réunion, which is where my family is from.

Réunion is a small island in the Indian Ocean, east of Madagascar and has been a French territory since the 16th century.

How do you get around?:

I get around in France by taking public transportation. I do have a car, but I don't drive it in Paris because there is too much traffic.
