I love taking a break from the city to get to explore new places!
This week I read two new cook books. One was where I found the recipe for the Moracan meat pie. The other was given to me by my friend. It's called The Smitten Kitchen: Recipies from a New York Kitchen. There are recipies for more pies and cakes that I can't wait to try out!
This week I went on a really long run down along the Hudson River that overlooks New York City. One of my favorite things about living in New Jersey is that we get breathtaking views of the city. I ran about an hour down the coast and was able to see from mid town manhattan to lower manhattan.
My husband surprized me by hanging up one of my favorite sarees from when I lived in Kerala, India. It's a very beautiful yellow with gold embroidery. I don't have occassions to wear my sarees here in NYC so seeing it hanging in the living room brings back so many fond memories of the friends I made during my time there.
