Different Perspectives City vs Country

Journal Entry:

Do you enjoy dressing up as your favorite super hero? Maybe you like to play pretend and imagine fairy-tales? When I was little I would always dress up as a fairy with large butterfly wings. For Halloween Celebrations my little brother and I would go around the neighborhood and ask our friends for candy - this is called trick-or-treating. Every year we would get back home and count our candy and promise my parents we wouldn't eat it all in one day.

I have so many good memories from this time in my childhood. We lived on a small farm with goats and a large garden. Now that I have moved to New York City I often think about how different life would have been if I'd grown up here. Today, I'm going to share how my perspective has changed through this move and how I've come to love both the country and the city.

This weekend I volunteered at the Fall Festival that was organized by the church that I go to in Jersey City. I have been to many fall festivals in the country where we road on trackers, got lost in corn mazes, and went apple picking in an orchard. I was curious to see what a harvest festival would be like in the middle of one of the largest cities in the world where there is little nature - and definitly no trackers.

I volunteered specificially to set up a table for cupcake decorating.
