I went into the city of Munich a few times this weekend. School is closed for the winter holidays from December 23 to January 6, so I had a lot of time to go visit friends. Munich is about 65 miles away. I also drove 13 miles to a town called Wörth an der Isar with a friend yesterday. Do you want to know why? We wanted to go to McDonald’s! It’s easy to find McDonald’s in big cities in Germany, but harder in rural towns like Mallersdorf. When my friend and I want to go eat at McDonalds, we have to drive half an hour to Wörth.
So far I’ve been able to travel to some other parts of Germany, like the cities of Cologne and Aachen. Cologne is a big city in the north of Germany, about 331 miles away, and Aachen is right next to it, 375 miles away. During the winter holidays I was also able to travel to Italy and visit the city of Florence. Florence is a really beautiful city, and it’s always been a dream of mine to visit it! Florence is located in the north of Italy, and I live in the south of Germany, so it only takes one hour to travel there by plane. The total distance is 463 miles.
