Our News

It’s a mystery novel that takes place in the medieval ages.

What games or sports did I play this week?:

I played a lot of board games with my friends over the weekend. We played a trivia game called Wer weiß das? (Who knows that?) and a game called Concept, which is kind of like charades. My friends always made sure that I understood all of the words in the game, which was so nice of them!

Other news from this week:

January 6 was a Christian holiday called the “Feast of the Epiphany.” Christians in Germany believe that this is the day that the three wise men from the Bible visited Jesus. Many people in Mallersdorf celebrate this day with an interesting tradition. On January 6, groups of children dress up as the three wise men. The children are called “Star Singers.” The Star Singers knock on people’s doors, sing a song and collect money for charity. After the singers are finished, they write a special blessing on the door of the house. The blessing includes the letters “CMB” and the year. It looks like this “20*C+M+B+20.” You can see these blessings on a lot of houses in southern Germany.
