Meet My Friend Lotte

On the weekends, my dad, brother and I like to go watch football games (For us, in the United States, "football" means soccer!).

How do you get around?:

Well, when I'm coming to Uni (university/college), I drive almost every day. It's much cheaper for me to live at home and then drive to school when I have to go. I  really don't like having to drive every day, but I have to do it for school. I also have a scooter which I bring with me if I know that I have a lot of places to walk around.

However, when I am at home in Belgium, I either walk or cycle (bike) wherever I am going.

Students: Take a look at the photo of the businessman in his suit riding to work on his bike, just like Lotte does when she's home in Belgium. Do you see some packages attached to his back wheel? Imagine you replace your car with a bike (which is good for the environment) as your regular mode of transportation. What if you want to get to school on your bike, but had to carry your school backpack and lunch box? How would you carry your sports equipment on your way to play soccer, for example? How would you fit your groceries after shopping at the grocery store?

What types of clothing do you like to wear?:

I really like comfy clothing so I wear a lot of sweaters and loose joggers. I love Timberland boots because they match all of my outfits, and I never have to worry about messing them up. I generally choose comfort over everything so I actually rarely wear jeans.

What do you like to do in your free time?:

I spend a lot of time trying new things. For example, I tried learning to speak Norwegian for a while, but that didn't go so well.
