Let's Talk About Basotho Food!

The yellow papa is often more of a crumbly texture.

Moroho is a finely chopped and cooked vegetable, often spinach or cabbage. The vegetable is picked from our gardens, washed, cut up very finely and then cooked in oil.

Is this food connected to the local environment? How?:

Many Basotho people rely on subsistence agriculture to feed their communities. This means that they grow food to feed themselves. Crops that can survive incredibly hot summers and snowy winters are best suited for the local environment. This is why Basotho eat lots of wheat, maize and cabbage.
