Breakfast in Northern Ireland

Introduction:

Have you ever wondered what it's like to eat in another country? What is the first food you would want to try if you went abroad? The first culturally significant meal I decided to try was breakfast, known in Northern Ireland as the Ulster fry. In this field note you'll get to learn all about Ulster fry, how I felt when I tried it, how it is prepared, and how it is connected to Northern Ireland's culture and environment.

What food did I try?:

I tried the All Day Fry at Café Nosh at the Malone House in Northern Ireland. It included a fried egg, fried tomatoes, fried mushrooms, baked beans, bacon, pork sausage, soda bread, and potato bread. It is usually served with a strong cup of tea and common condiments like brown sauce, ketchup, and mustard.

How did I feel when I tried it?:

I was curious at first, because they did not have a description of the meal on the menu. I asked the waitress and it sounded like it would be good and enough food to fill me up. At first glance, I was intrigued because it looked delicious. I even put my beans on my toast to truly feel like I was eating it right (it actually tasted really good). The bacon in the U.K. is different than the U.S. because it is more like ham than the thin greasy bacon in America. The sausages are also different than american breakfast sausages.
