Travel News

How far did I travel this week?:

My travel this week was mainly limited to my region. To the cacao meeting with my host sister, it was about 7 kilometers from my house by car. The conditions of the roads made it take a little longer than it would if they were completely paved, but it was still interesting to be able to see a new part of the region.

How far have I traveled on this journey so far?:

Since arriving in Costa Rica, I have had the privilege of seeing several of the provinces. With training in the capital of San José, I was able to explore the busy city where many international businesses are located. Additionally, I completed 10 kilometers for La Romería, a yearly pilgrimage that Costa Ricans participate in in Cartago, one of the provinces to the east. Out of about a total of 30 parks, I have visited Parque Nacional Manuel Antonio and Parque Nacional Volcán Tenorio, where I was able to see an abundance of wildlife and the natural beauty of Costa Rica.

How did I get around this week?:

Transportation is a little difficult in Costa Rica, but when I am able to, I rely on others with cars to bring me to places. When I want to go into town, I usually walk from my house to the center. If I want to travel further, there are buses that I have to catch that pass through my site.
