Day in the Life of a Moroccan!

How do you get around?:

Hoda: I usually walk when possible, but for longer distances, I take taxis or public transport to get around.

Nadir: I usually walk or take a taxi

Note from Jada: Most people in Meknes walk to get around since the town is so small! Everything you need is a 20-minute walk away!

What types of clothing do you like to wear?:

Hoda: When it comes to fashion, I prefer a classy, old-money style that is both elegant and timeless. For holidays like Eid al-Fitr, I wear my Caftan.

Nadir: I like to wear something casual, like jeans, sweaters, T-shirts, etc. On holidays like Eid al-Fitr, I wear my jellaba.

Note from Jada: Eid al-Fitr is a special holiday that comes after a month of fasting called Ramadan. On this day, families celebrate by praying, eating yummy food, and giving to those in need. Moroccan women wear beautiful dresses called caftans, which are long, colorful gowns with pretty decorations. Some also wear a jellaba, a long robe with a hood that keeps them comfy. Everyone dresses nicely, spends time with family, and enjoys the happy day together

What do you like to do in your free time?:

Hoda: In my free time, I enjoy reading, journalling, learning new things, cooking, and exchanging languages with foreigners. These activities allow me to grow intellectually and connect with people from different cultures.

Nadir: I like to paint and customize action figures. I make stop motion animations, and sometimes I go out to the city

What language(s) do you speak? How do you say "Hello" in your language?:

Hoda: I speak three and a half languages, hahaha!
