At the time, I had no idea that one class would lead me so far. That’s why I always encourage students to try new things, even if they seem small. If you have the chance to learn a new language in school—like Spanish, French or something else—I hope you go for it. You never know where it might take you.
With eight months left in Lesotho, I already feel like time is going too fast. I’m going to miss this country and the people here so much. But I know this won’t be my last adventure. After I return to the United States in December, I plan to continue working as a Peace Corps Volunteer in another country.
I hope that during our time together, I’ve helped you feel curious about the world—about different people, places and cultures. As you move on to Grade 5 and beyond, I hope you keep trying new things, even when they feel a little scary.
Kea leboha (thank you) and sala hantle (goodbye)!
