An Interview with Oldřich

What time does school start, and what time do you go home?:

School generally starts between 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and I often stay in the city working or spending time with friends till late at night.

How do you get to school? Are you allowed to go to school by yourself?:

I have an hour long bus commute, which makes it difficult to get back and forth. Once I get to the city, I typically stay the entire day.

Where do you eat lunch? What is your favorite food?:

I enjoy eating the lunch menu at restaurants while I am in the city. The set menus are often much cheaper, change daily and include a warm cup of soup! I don't know that I have a favorite food, but I generally prefer salty foods.

What language do you speak at school? How do you say "Hello" in your language?:

We primarily speak Czech in my school. We say Dobrý den to say "hello", or if it is a friend, you say Ahoj!

What are some common kids' names at your school?:

A few common names in our school are Eliška (El-ish-ka), Matej (Mah-tey) and Honsa. We frequently have students with the same name in our courses.

What subjects do you study in school, and which one is your favorite?:

I'm currently studying bioinformatics, which mostly includes math and computer based courses. I've been studying this since high school, as when we get to high school, we can study in a school that specializes in one topic.

What is your homework like?:

My homework is mostly computer programming and coding, but sometimes it also includes group projects.
