My favorite thing about Geneva is meeting people from all over the world. Today, I interviewed Naim, a man from Kosovo who works at a kebab restaurant. Our relationship began during my first week in Geneva when I led a group of my friends through the streets, looking for food. Naim was eagerly waiting outside the door of the kebab shop where he works. When he saw us, he smiled and waved us into the shop. His coworker and he set up tables so we could sit and eat together. Since then, we have gone back many times, and I was excited to interview him to learn about his life in Geneva.
Naim: My name is Naim.
Naim: I live above the restaurant, in an apartment. It is great and easy to get to work every day!
Naim: No, I don’t have any family here. I live on my own.
He pointed to his finger to show me he did not have a wedding ring, making sure I understood what he meant.
I asked: How long have you been in Geneva?
Naim: I have been here for 23 years on my own, and I have worked here since.
He then pointed to his boss and continued.
