Food is the Love Language of Thailand!

Introduction:

Sawatdii krab (Hello)! I am so excited and honored that I get to help you all learn about Thailand! Since moving here two weeks ago, I’ve quickly learned that the love language of the Thai people is sharing food. I’ve been fed around five meals a day: breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, dessert and maybe a bonus nighttime snack after that. Everything I’ve eaten has been so delicious and I will share some favorites with you!

What food did I try?:

I tried Pad Thai (stir-fried rice noodles), pad ka prow (stir-fried holy basil) and durian (a smelly custard-like fruit).

How did I feel when I tried it?:

Pad Thai: It always hits the spot! I had it for lunch on one of my first days here in Thailand and felt so excited knowing I was about to be able to eat this for lunch every single day if I wanted to.

Pad Ka Prow: I’m obsessed with the sauces and seasonings on it. Fish sauce is a common ingredient in a lot of Thai food; however, only a little bit is used so it doesn’t really taste like fish. It has a tangy, salty, and umami (a savory, rich and meaty taste) flavor. Pad Ka Prow has quickly become one of my new favorite dishes that I start craving again an hour after eating it.
