Traveler Bio

Sawatdee krab (Hello)! My name is William (Will), and I am originally from St. Paul, Minnesota. I recently graduated from Southern Methodist University with my BFA in Acting and a minor in Educational Studies.

Growing up, I had a wide variety of interests: gymnastics, mathematics, creative writing, textile crafting, singing, and dancing. It wasn’t until the end of elementary school that I discovered acting. Learning to act on stage meant I got to learn all about different characters’ lives and feel the excitement of getting to share their stories in front of a big audience. I loved acting so much that I decided to go to a performing arts high school and then study it in college.

Acting helped me realize how much I love learning about other people and getting to know their stories. This directly translated into a passion I discovered during college: travel. When I travel, I love learning about people from around the world and what makes their culture distinct. My love of travel inspired me to go to India three times to study and conduct research as well as visit Turkey, Ireland, Japan, and the United Arab Emirates.

Now, I am heading to Thailand to teach English to high schoolers as a Fulbright Scholar. There, I plan to immerse myself as much as I can in the culture, including trying a ton of different Thai foods, studying the Thai language, seeing traditional live performances,  learning muay Thai boxing, and connecting with my students and teachers at my new school.

I can’t wait to update you throughout my journey, answer any questions you may have, and share all the different stories I hear about during my time in Thailand!
