Food is the Love Language of Thailand!

How is the food prepared?:

Thailand’s national dish, pad Thai, can be found in so many restaurants here. It's a delicious noodle dish with green onion, eggs, peanuts, bean sprouts and usually a protein like chicken, pork or shrimp. The sauce on the noodles is the perfect balance of sweet, spicy, sour and salty.

Pad Ka Prow: It is minced pork with seasonings like garlic, holy basil and a sauce made of soy sauce, fish sauce and a few other seasonings. It is usually served with rice and a fried egg.

Durian: it is an iconic fruit in Thailand, known to produce widely contrasting opinions by those who eat it. Some love it for its custard-like texture and sweet depth of flavor. Others can’t stand it because of the smell. Some even say it smells like rotten gym socks! Nonetheless, many would argue that durian is one of the most delicious fruits in the world.

Is this food connected to the local environment? How?:

Most people agree that durian has an unpleasant smell which has led to be rules across Thailand banning people from eating durian in certain public places like public transportation, hotel rooms, offices and libraries!

Fun fact: the province that I am teaching in, Chanthaburi, produces over 50% of Thailand's durian supply and 27% of the world's durian.
