Farewell

When you read Neymar’s interview, you saw the extent of the struggles that an elementary student goes through on a daily basis, whether that is walking to school alone, struggling with homework or helping their family around the house. We’ve touched on the extent to which Guatemalans practice religion, take pride in their indigenous roots and rely on public transportation. I hope you were able to learn at least one thing from all the examples that I laid out and that you will continue to use that knowledge for the rest of your life.

Well, that's it. That's all I have to stay. If you all are still curious about the world, go outside your house and ask around. You’d be surprised by how much you can learn about the world just outside in your local community. When I returned to the States for vacation, I was surprised to learn that there was actually a decent amount of Guatemalans living in my community. When I volunteered at my church, I learned that there were a few Japanese immigrants in my community who were in desperate need of learning more English. When I worked for refugee services, I learned even more about the different immigrant populations "hidden" throughout my hometown. Because of my past experiences, I can confidently say that if you want to continue learning about the world, start by looking around your community, and you will be surprised by the different people and cultures you'll find. Adios
