Pine Tree

How does it use its environment to survive?:

The pine tree is very low maintenance and can survive in the harsh conditions of Finland. As they do not need a lot of sunlight or water to grow, they do well here. Animals in the area, like birds and squirels, use the pine trees for food by eating the seeds, or for homes by building nests in their branches.

What can harm this creature or plant? Are we worried about it?:

Although not an issue in Finland, in North America there is a pine beetle that invades pine trees and uses them as breeding grounds. Pine beetles can destroy a tree quickly. Other than that, pine trees are very resilent and the only thing that really poses a threat to them is the logging industry.
