This week was hot and sunny, then very rainy because of a typhoon! Even when it is rainy, it is not cold. Everyone uses umbrellas and ponchos because it is too hot for coats. We also use umbrellas when it is sunny, because it is so hot. I always have my umbrella with me because I need it rain or shine!
Typhoons are big storms that happen in the summer and fall. There is lots and lots of rain. If the typhoon is very bad, we get a typhoon day, and there is no school!

Since I live in the big city, I don't see a lot of wild animals. In Taipei, people have pets like dogs and cats, but also birds, turtles and fish, which are easier to have in apartments. Last night, I went to the night market, and a woman was walking around with a parrot on her shoulder!
