Spanish is the principal language spoken here.

What type of money is used here?:

Argentine pesos are used throughout Argentina. About 40 pesos equal one U.S. dollar.

How much does a bottle of water cost?:

I don't buy bottled water here. I prefer not to buy plastic bottles. Instead I drink the tap water or else I filter water. An empanada costs about 40 pesos, or about 1 dollar. I eat empanadas almost every day!

What was the best meal this week?:

I ate at a Peruvian restaurant. I've never tried Peruvian food before. It was delicious!

What music did I listen to this week?:

I heard a folklorico band playing live music at a restaurant. Folklorico is usually played with two or more guitars, a drum, and sometimes a flute and an instrument called a churango. A churango looks like a guitar, but it is really small and it has more strings. 

What activity was the most fun this week?:

I had fun taking samples of rocks and algae at my research site. 

What did I read this week?:

I am reading Harry Potter in Spanish. I'm halfway through Harry Potter y La Cámera Secreta (Harry Potter and the Secret Chamber).

What games or sports did I play this week?:

I went surfing at Playa Grande in Mar del Plata.
