What Is It Like to Be a 3rd Grader in Argentina? Interviewing Magali!

My dad is a professor. He teaches at a few different colleges, so he is sometimes very busy and travels around the city to go to his classes.

My parents both work a lot, but they also spend time with me. They tell me that studying and learning are very important. I like hearing about what they are working on because they always have interesting things to share.

What time does school start, and what time do you go home?:

My school usually starts at 8:00 in the morning. I wake up early, get dressed and eat a quick breakfast before I go. Sometimes I walk to school, or my parents take me. I usually finish school around 4:00 in the afternoon. We have classes, recess and a lunch break during the day. After school, I go home, have a snack and do my homework.

How do you get to school? Are you allowed to go to school by yourself?:

I usually walk to school because it is close to my house in Villa Crespo. The streets are busy in the morning, and many kids walk to school with their families. Sometimes my mom or dad walks with me, and sometimes I walk with a friend who lives nearby.

I am starting to learn how to go by myself for short distances, but my parents still like to make sure I am safe. They want to know where I am and who I am with. Many kids in the neighborhood walk to school because everything is close together. I like walking to school because I see the same stores, dogs and neighbors every day.
