I usually eat lunch at school. I bring my lunch in my backpack from home. Sometimes I have a sandwich, pasta or milanesa. I also bring fruit or a small snack. I eat lunch with my friends, and we talk while we eat.
Sometimes, if I go home after school, I eat lunch at home with my family. On weekends, we eat lunch together at the table.
At my school, we speak Spanish. All of our classes are in Spanish, and we talk to our teachers and friends in Spanish every day. We also learn a little bit of English at school.
To say hello in Spanish, we usually say “hola.” We can also say “buen día” (kind of like have a good day) in the morning or “buenas tardes” (good evening) later in the day. When I see my friends, I usually just say “hola” and start talking.
Some common names at my school are Sofía, Martina, Valentina and Catalina. There are also boys named Mateo, Benjamín, Santiago and Tomás. I also know kids named Juan, Pedro and Lucía.
Many kids in Argentina have Spanish names. Some names are very popular, so sometimes there are two kids in the class with the same name. Then the teacher uses their last name or a nickname so we know who is who.
