My friends and I play a lot of card games when we hang out. It can be hard to find sports to participate in here because we are in the middle of a city, and there are fewer public fields and arenas than I'd hoped.
That being said, watching ice hockey is a huge deal in the Czech Republic! There are often professional games that many Czech people love to watch. Also, pickleball is gaining popularity in Prague; one of my friends here has joined a professional-level league (I am still not sure how!) and competes every weekend with international pickleball players. Last weekend, he traveled to a tournament in Slovakia, where he placed third!
This week, I celebrated Halloween! Though people usually associate the holiday with America, I saw a lot of people dressed up in costumes! Little kids were trick-or-treating, but it was not as popular as in the United States. A lot of restaurants had discounts for people with good costumes. It was fun to see how the Czech Republic celebrates a holiday I have always enjoyed.
