Traveler Bio

Ahoj! My name is Elise Bauman, and I am 20 years old. This is my third year as a student at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon. Before college, I grew up in Davis, a town located in the heart of California. I played volleyball, worked as my high school’s class president, taught swim lessons, and spent a lot of time traveling with my family.

At Lewis and Clark, I work as a Resident Advisor, which means I help other students get used to living in dorms by planning fun events (it’s like being a big sister for college students). I also work for one of my professors, and my research will help her write a book! I am studying Sociology, Anthropology, and Environmental Studies. That is a fancy way of saying I am interested in people and nature; my focus is on family-run cattle ranches (think fluffy cows in grass fields). Outside of school, my friends and I spend time listening to music, going for walks through the forest, and shopping for vintage clothes.

I am currently living in the Czech Republic, which is located right underneath Germany. All of the buildings are gorgeous, the people are friendly, and the cities are walkable! I am thrilled for the remainder of my time here and look forward to sharing my adventure with you!
