One of my colleagues told me that she makes 14 different kinds of Christmas cookies each year!
We also played some fun games. A lot of Czech Christmas games are about predicting what is going to happen in the upcoming year. In my favorite game, each person has an empty walnut shell that has been turned into a candle. You all light your candle then place it in a bowl of water. Depending on if your "boat" stays still, moves around or stays close to the edge, it predicts what your next year will be like. For example, mine moved away from the rest of the group, which meant that I would be going on a big adventure next year... do you think the prediction will come true?
My school also had a Christmas volleyball tournament on the last day of school before the break.
