There are many wonderful traditions in which I've gotten to take part since being here, but my favorite has to be the Christmas traditions! Czech families follow lots of special traditions and celebrate in many ways, including with special foods, games and time spent with family.
I learned all about how to celebrate a Czech Christmas. One day in December, instead of me preparing a lesson for the class, my students taught me about what Czech Christmas is like. First, they made me lots of homemade Christmas cookies, like Vanilkové rohlíčky (crescent-shaped vanilla cookies) and Perníčky (gingerbread).
