What main languages are spoken here?:

Finnish and English are spoken almost everywhere, although Finnish and Swedish are the national languages. In the bigger cities and among younger students, English is generally spoken more fluently.

What type of money is used here?:

In Finland, as in most of the European Union (EU), the euro is used.

How much does a bottle of water cost?:

As you move closer to the Arctic Circle, certain groceries may become more expensive because it is more difficult to transport goods that far north. However, the water is still clean enough to drink in Oulu. In Helsinki, people drink from the tap and rarely buy a bottle of water, which is usually about three euros.

What was the best meal this week?:

I had pizza twice this week, and ate the whole pizza myself! In Finland, almost all of the pizza that is served is Neapolitan pizza, meaning the crust is quite thin, so it is possible to eat a medium-sized pizza even if you cannot eat pizzas with thicker crusts like the pizzas that are commonly served in the U.S.

What music did I listen to this week?:

One of the things that I miss most about living in the U.S. is the Latin or Hispanic music of Miami and my home state, Florida.
