By the time you read this, I will be back in the United States. As my study abroad journey has come to an end, I wanted to take the time to reflect on everything that has happened. At the very beginning, I was nervous for the new journey I was embarking on, but also extremely excited for what was to come.

Studying abroad can be hard and challenging at times! The adjustment to a new life all on your own is the biggest aspect of studying abroad. My past experiences prepared me for this journey as I was already used to being very independent, but it is still challenging to be away from friends and family. It is normal to miss home, especially when you run into obstacles abroad. Spending time with people when you're feeling down can often be a great source of support and my international friends really helped me when I felt homesick.

Some of the best times I've had abroad have been with the friends I've made. Traveling to Scotland for a week, exploring London for a day, ice skating, movie nights and so much more. I couldn't have made it through without the support of those around me.

Studying abroad is a lot about the experiences you have and the people you meet, but you can't forget that you are there to take classes.
