Playing sports is one of my favorite ways to connect with my community and practice my language skills in Taiwan.
Last Monday, I attended a fireworks show at a small fishing village about 45 minutes from my home. The fireworks celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival (中秋節), a holiday based around the moon. For this festival, we eat mooncakes and watch fireworks. People, here, also barbeque with their families during this holiday. The fireworks show in Dongshi, the fishing village, was the most fantastic fireworks show I've ever seen in my life!
