I have a very large playlist called "24 in Taiwan" that I'm constantly adding new music to. I spend at least one hour driving on my scooter every day, so I'm always looking for new music. This week, some favorites have been "Favourite Daughter" by Lorde, "1979" by The Smashing Pumpkins, "Coming of Age" by Blondes, and "Like That" by Future, Metro Boomin and Kendrick Lamar.
The most fun activity for me was easily scootering around Lanyu with my friends. It only takes around 1 hour to do the entire island loop, and we completed this loop several times. I saw the most beautiful sunset of my life, swam in crystal clear blue water and hiked deep into a rainforest. I had so much fun bonding with my friends in my Chiayi County cohort and exploring the island.
Lately, I have been reading a book called "Eviction: Poverty and Profit in the American City" by Matthew Desmond. I was a political science major in college, and I am constantly trying to learn more about both domestic and foreign policy in the United States. This book is on housing policy and the affordable housing crisis. It's one of many books that I have downloaded on my e-reader. I bring this with me on all my trips because it's so lightweight.
